BPS Group comprises 359 cooperative banks and BPS Bank as an affiliating bank.
Bank Polskiej Spółdzielczości S.A. with its headquarters in Warsaw was founded on 15th of March 2002 through a merger of Gospodarczy Bank Południowo-Zachodni SA with five Polish banks: Bank Unii Gospodarczej SA, Lubelski Bank Regionalny SA, Małopolski Bank Regionalny SA, Rzeszowski Bank Regionalny SA and Warmińsko-Mazurski Bank Regionalny SA.
BPS Group provides services both to individual as well as to business customers – private companies, agricultural sector and public sector entities through almost 4000 outlets located throughout the whole country.
Affiliated cooperative banks are the main shareholders of BPS Bank with a total share value of 80% of shares.
359 affiliated cooperative banks constitute approx. 62,33% of Polish cooperative banking sector.
Total balance of affiliated cooperative banks exceeds PLN 34,6 bn, and the shareholders equity PLN 3.5 bn (as for 31.12.2009).
Affiliation Board is an advisory body of opinion to BPS Group.
To its duties belongs valuation of enterprises, projects and solutions concerning all affiliated cooperative banks.
